Meet Hedder Pierre Joseph
It’s truly a pleasure to meet you, and I want to thank you for taking the time to visit our campaign website for Orange County Commission District 6. My name is Hedder Pierre Joseph, and I’m not just a candidate—I’m a mom, a community advocate, and an educator who has lived the challenges many of our families face.
I was born in Nassau, Bahamas, to Haitian immigrant parents. When I was very young, I experienced a loss that changed the course of my life—the death of my mother. Shortly after, I arrived in South Florida as an undocumented immigrant, traveling in a substandard watercraft. Those early years were filled with fear, uncertainty, and resilience. But in 1994, I became a legal resident, and in 2003, I made Orange County my home.
Since then, I have poured my heart into this community. I’ve served as an educator, a business owner, a youth mentor, an advocate, and a real estate agent. I am also an active member of New Covenant Baptist Church. Every role I’ve taken on has strengthened my belief that when we uplift each other, we all rise together.

As an educator, I see firsthand the consequences of our failure to prioritize affordability and it breaks my heart. When families can’t afford basic necessities like housing, healthcare, transportation, or childcare, our communities become less safe, not more. Students come to school stressed, exhausted, and worried about where they will sleep or how their family will make ends meet.
This isn’t just an economic issue, it’s a human one. When people are forced to choose between paying rent and putting food on the table, they are pushed into survival mode, and that strain affects every part of our community. That’s why affordability and community safety must be our top priorities. We cannot truly protect our neighborhoods or support our children’s future unless families have stability and the ability to thrive.

I’m deeply passionate about the issues that impact our families every day, immigration, business development, sustainable housing, youth and young adults, and expanding access for persons with disabilities. These are not just policy priorities to me—they are personal. They reflect the struggles I’ve faced, the people I’ve stood beside, and the future I want to build for our children.
As your candidate for Orange County Commissioner for District 6, I promise to be a voice for those who have been overlooked. I will work with you and the leaders from within the community to ensure our community is heard, respected, and valued. Together, we will build a coalition our families will be proud of.
Please Join me in building a movement to bring relief to families and vote for Hedder August 18th 2026
